What this policy covers
This policy explains how Chrome & Edge extensions published by Datlynn handle privacy and user data.
This policy applies to Datlynn Chrome & Edge extensions unless a specific extension page, listing, or notice states otherwise.
Datlynn Chrome & Edge extensions may include simple browser-based tools that provide quick access to selected websites, resources, feeds, or other functions.
Some Datlynn extensions may also use license-based access control. Where license validation is used, this is stated in the relevant extension listing or product information.
This policy applies only to the extensions themselves. Third-party websites opened through an extension have their own privacy policies, terms, security practices, and technical environments.
Independent product notice
Datlynn Chrome & Edge extensions are independent digital products created by Datlynn.
They are not official products of Google, Chrome, Microsoft, Microsoft Edge, browser store providers, tourism boards, rail operators, museums, travel providers or any third-party websites referenced in or through the extensions.
Any references to Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Google, Microsoft, browser stores, websites, public resources or third-party services are used only to describe compatibility, context, access points or the type of resources that may be opened through the extension.
1) Data we collect
Unless explicitly stated otherwise for a specific extension, Datlynn Chrome & Edge extensions do not collect, sell or share personal data.
Most Datlynn extensions do not collect:
personally identifiable information
financial or payment information
personal communications
health information
location data
web history
user activity
website content
Some Datlynn extensions may process authentication information in the form of a license key when license-based access control is enabled.
Where license validation is used:
the user enters a license key to activate the extension
the license key may be stored locally in Chrome or Edge extension storage so it does not need to be entered every time the extension is opened
the license key and product identifier may be sent securely to Datlynn’s server-side license validation service
the validation service checks whether the license is valid and whether its status is Active or Inactive
the extension receives only the information required to determine whether access should be allowed
the license key is not used for advertising, profiling or tracking browsing behaviour
The extension does not send browsing history, website content or activity on third-party websites as part of license validation.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Datlynn extensions do not use advertising identifiers or behavioural analytics tracking.
2) How the extensions work
Datlynn Chrome & Edge extensions are designed as browser-based tools.
Depending on the specific extension, they may provide quick access to selected websites, display saved links or feeds, support lightweight browser functions, or provide controlled access to extension functionality.
When a user clicks a button or link inside an extension, the extension may open the selected website or resource in the browser.
Where license-based access control is enabled, the extension may contact Datlynn’s secure license validation service when the extension is activated or opened.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the extensions themselves do not monitor browsing behaviour, read website content, or track activity across websites.
3) Why we process data
Most Datlynn extensions do not require personal information for their core functionality.
Where license validation is enabled, the license key is processed only for:
activating the extension
confirming that the license belongs to the correct product
checking whether the license remains Active
preventing unauthorized access to licensed extension functionality
allowing access to be withdrawn where a license is no longer valid or has been deactivated
License validation information is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling, credit decisions or unrelated marketing purposes.
If a future extension requires different data practices, this will be clearly stated in its Chrome Web Store listing, Microsoft Edge Add-ons listing, documentation and/or extension-specific privacy notice.
4) Sharing of data
Datlynn Chrome & Edge extensions do not sell personal data.
Datlynn does not share extension data with third parties for advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.
Where license validation is used, technical infrastructure providers may process the minimum information needed to operate the secure validation service.
Datlynn currently uses secure backend infrastructure for license validation. This infrastructure is used only to process the license check and maintain the license database.
A license validation request may include:
license key
product identifier
license status information required for validation
The extension itself does not send the user’s browsing history, website content or activity on third-party websites to the license validation service.
If a user opens a third-party website through an extension, any data processing that takes place on that external website is governed by the privacy policy and terms of that third party.
5) Cookies and tracking
Datlynn Chrome & Edge extensions themselves do not place advertising cookies, tracking pixels or similar behavioural tracking technologies on a user’s device unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Any cookies or tracking technologies encountered after opening a third-party website are controlled by that website, not by the extension itself.
License validation is not used to track browsing behaviour.
6) International transfers
Where an extension does not transmit data to a Datlynn backend service, the extension itself does not carry out personal data transfers.
Where license validation is enabled, limited technical information required for license validation may be processed through Datlynn’s backend infrastructure and its technical service providers.
Datlynn aims to limit such processing to what is necessary for providing and securing the licensed extension functionality.
If a future extension involves additional or materially different data processing, the applicable information and safeguards will be described in the relevant extension-specific documentation or notice.
7) Retention
For extensions without license validation, no personal information is normally retained by the extension itself.
Where license validation is enabled:
the license key may be stored locally in browser extension storage to remember activation
the locally stored activation information may be removed if the license becomes invalid or Inactive
Datlynn may retain the license record in its license management system for as long as necessary to manage the applicable product license, access rights, support, security or related business records
The extension does not retain browsing history or website content as part of the license validation process.
8) Children
Our Chrome & Edge extensions are not specifically directed at children.
Datlynn does not knowingly use its extensions to collect personal data from children for advertising, profiling or behavioural tracking.
9) Security
Datlynn Chrome & Edge extensions are prepared and published with reasonable care.
Where license validation is used, database credentials, administrative API keys and other backend secrets are not intended to be stored inside the publicly distributed extension code.
License validation is designed to take place through a server-side validation service rather than by exposing the license database directly to the browser extension.
License communication is transmitted through secure HTTPS connections.
Where applicable, extensions may be distributed through official and trusted channels. However, no software environment, browser setup, device, download process, network, backend service or third-party website can be guaranteed to be completely free from risks, interruptions, incompatibilities, malware, viruses or external interference.
Users remain responsible for maintaining their own device security, browser updates, antivirus protection, safe internet practices and careful use of downloads, links and browser environments.
10) Disclaimer and limitation of responsibility
Datlynn Chrome & Edge extensions are provided as browser-based tools.
Datlynn is not responsible for issues caused by incorrect installation, modified files, unofficial copies, unsupported browser environments, device-specific problems, third-party interference, or malware, viruses or other harmful software originating outside the official version of the extension as published by Datlynn.
Datlynn is not responsible for problems caused by a user’s own device, browser configuration, outdated software, disabled security settings, unsafe downloads, or external systems beyond Datlynn’s control.
Datlynn is not responsible for the content, availability, privacy practices, security, technical functioning or later changes made by third-party websites opened through an extension.
Where an extension uses license-based access control, access may be limited or withdrawn if the applicable license is invalid, inactive, expired, revoked or otherwise no longer eligible for access under the applicable product or service terms.
Users remain responsible for their own browser environment, device security, antivirus protection and safe internet use.
Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to exclude liability where such exclusion is not permitted under applicable law.
11) Changes
We may update this policy from time to time.
This may include updates when new extension functionality, license systems, backend services or privacy requirements are introduced.
Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
